The Blender addon is designed and tested for Blender 4.2+, though it will function with limited support down to Blender 3.0.

Installing

  1. Open the Polydex standalone application if not not already
  2. Click on “Manage connections” at the bottom of the window
  3. Drag the zip file into Blender 4.2 and click “Install from Disk”, be sure Enable on Install is enabled
  4. Open the 3D view toolshelf and go to the Polydex tab, where you should already start to see your assets

Open Polydex from Blender

If Polydex is not running in the background, the Blender addon will not be able list your assets. Simply press the button the launch the standalone app.

If you want to close the standalone app but continue using the Blender addon, be sure to press “Hide Polydex” to keep it running in the background.

Importing materials

Detected material assets can be imported by pressing the Import button. If multiple resolutions are detected, you can click the dropdown to pick different resolutions to apply.
